New signing.
Former British and Irish Lion George North is set to leave the Ospreys and Welsh Rugby after signing a surprise two-year deal.
North has joined second-tier French side Provence and could potentially ply his trade in the PRO D2 next season.
The winger, who has been deployed in the centre for both club and country on a number of occasions in recent seasons, started Wales’ defeat to Argentina in the quarter-finals of the Rugby World Cup back in November.
But he will remain eligible for international selection as he has the required 25 caps needed, having represented his country 119 times.
Provence are currently second in the PRO D2 and are pushing for a place in the Top 14.
“My family and I are very excited to be joining Provence Rugby from next season,” North said.
“I can’t wait to meet everyone and start an amazing adventure in Provence. See you soon at Maurice-David!”
