George North has signed a new contract with Northampton ending speculation about a possible return to Wales.
The 55-cap winger is to stay at Franklin’s Gardens, where he has been based since 2013 when he switched from the Scarlets.
There had been talk about him possibly returning home on a WRU dual contract, with the Scarlets initially saying they would welcome him back, while Cardiff Blues also indicated they would be interested in a player of his quality.
But last week, Scarlets coach Wayne Pivac said they were not chasing the 23-year-old and there is no indication of him having been offered a dual contract. Now the issue of his future has been resolved with the announcement from the Saints.
