Not impressed.
Leicester Tigers boss Geordan Murphy was clearly not impressed with the decision to send off one of his players in yesterday’s 41-35 defeat to Wasps in Round 3 of the Gallagher Premiership.
Tigers lock Will Spencer saw red just before half-time for a high shoulder hit on Wasps flanker Tommy Taylor, that sparked a huge reaction online with a number of current and ex-pros slamming the decision.
Taylor’s looked to be a pretty nasty collision, but the size difference perhaps should have been considered. He clearly bends his knees and doesn’t look like it was anything intentional. At the same time you cannot blame the referee as it was a red card offence according to the letter of the law.
A lot of current and ex pros not happy with this red card.

After the game Murphy let it be know that he reckons decisions like this are ‘killing’ the game.
“I think the game’s gone a little too PC.” Murphy said.
“That for me is crazy. It’s rugby. Tommy Taylor was fine. Dai Young stood beside me, he seemed fine with it. There was no HIA. There was not real danger to the player.”
