Disgraced Rugby League star Ben Barba has joined French giants Toulon for the remainder of the Top 14 season.
Toulon released a statement today saying that the rugby league star had agreed to jump codes.
“Barba operates at fullback but can also cover the positions of centre and outhalf,” the statement said.
“Barba should arrive in Toulon next week and be in contention for the next match of the Top 14 season.”
The Top 14 season finishes in late May or early June, which will allow Barba to return to play for the Cronulla Sharks and finish the second half of the NRL season after being banned for 12 weeks due to a second positive test to cocaine.
The Sharks signed Barba to a one-year deal in the middle of January after he had quit the club in the wake of his positive drugs test following the club’s first ever premiership win.
Toulon also recently announced the signing of League star Semi Radradra despite domestic violence charges clouding the Fijian flyer’s future.
