Toulon’s spending spree this summer is set to reach new heights.
We reported earlier that they are set to complete the signings of England and Saracens star, Chris Ashton along with All Black fullback Israel Dagg, and it now seems they’re about to turn their attention to Scotland and the PRO12.
The French side are set to buy Scotland and Glasgow Warrior lock, Jonny Gray out of his contract for €300,000, which doesn’t expire until June 2018.
Gray was one of the standout players in this year’s Six Nations and has become a key player for Glasgow Warriors over the past couple of seasons. Should he be lured to France, it will be a massive blow to the Scottish side who lost Fijian lock Leone Nakarawa to Racing 92 this season.
Midi reports that Gray is contracted to the Warriors until June 2018 but €300,000 would buy him out of the last year of his contract
