Former World Cup Winner Reveals His Baffling Six Nations Predictions

It seems Ben Kay has lost it lads.

The World Cup winning lock is the latest Englishman to offer a ridiculous prediction. A few days ago we had Will Greenwood’s laughable Lions XV, which included an uncapped Irishman, now we have Ben Kay’s Six Nations prediction.

First off the bat he believes Scotland will prove too much for Ireland in the opening round, due to Glasgow’s current form. The same Glasgow that were defeated by Munster in Scotland a couple of weeks back.

We’re not trying to take away from Glasgow, or even Scotland, but the Irish province’s are on fire, Ireland are coming off the back of a huge November series, and to be quite honest we really don’t see Vern Cotter’s men scalping the Irish, and we’re not the only ones.

Then there’s his England scenario. Kay believes Eddie Jones won’t want to go into the final game with Ireland undefeated. Yes you read that correctly. Kay believes a Grand Slam decider with Ireland is the last thing England want, as nothing would delight Ireland more than stopping the old enemy.

That is fair enough, but we’re pretty sure England want to be fighting for a Grand Slam and Ireland will want to defeat England at the Aviva regardless. It doesn’t need any added incentives, it’s Ireland versus bloody England in the Six Nations for crying out loud.

I genuinely think that a Grand Slam will be difficult for anyone.

I always struggle with predictions, I actually had Scotland beating Ireland at home in the first game, just with the momentum that Glasgow have had. It could be a bit of an ambush early on in the tournament for Ireland.

If England do manage to go undefeated through the championship up until the last game, that will be the worst thing that could happen for them. The last thing England will want to be doing is playing a Grand Slam decider against a team that couldn’t get the Grand Slam and would delight in nothing more than stopping England.
