Fans Fume As Aussie Commentator Makes Bizarre Racist Ireland ‘Potato’ Remark

Needless.

Ireland finally secured a long-awaited series win in Australia yesterday morning, with a 20-16 win over Michael Cheika’a Wallabies at the Allianz Stadium in Sydney.

While Ireland fans watched the tv coverage of the game on Sky Sports, with the lovely musings of Alan Quinlan on commentary – the Aussies were subjected to Phil Kearns, and his racist remarks that could find him in hot water.

With only a few minutes gone in the second-half Kearns decided to have a go at the Irish for ‘wasting’ time as a scrum was about to get underway. The Irish players can be seen chatting before getting into place, and this is were Kearns reached for the oldest cliche in the book.

“Fiddly dee, fiddly dee, fiddly dee, potato – out the back there having their own little chat.”

Understandably – people weren’t happy.
