If England need any added incentive to win the Six Nations this year, this is most certainly it.

The England rugby team will share a whopping jackpot of more than £3.5 million if they win a second successive Grand Slam during this year’s RBS Six Nations Championship according to The Daily Telegraph.

Eddie Jones lead his side to Grand Slam glory last year during his first season in charge, and if him and his players manage to do so again this year, they will be handsomely rewarded by the RFU.

The Jackpot included £1 million as a special squad bonus for emerging victorious, with the rest made up of match and training fees and image rights. The deal was reportedly concluded this week following third-party negotiations with the Aviva Premiership clubs.

The squad bonus alone is up a staggering 66% from the £600,000 received last year. The RFU also stands to make a tidy profit should England succeed this year. A top-two finish is worth £20 million to the governing body
