Ouch.

England international Courtney Lawes was on media duty this morning sporting a very nasty looking black eye ahead of this weekend’s Six Nations clash with Ireland at Twickenham.

The Northampton Saints man is set to start at blindside flanker on Sunday but will no doubt have his vision impaired as a result of the shiner. His eye looks pretty closed up and swollen but it looks like he will be cleared to play.

But what happened? Lawes isn’t too sure.

“Nothing too crazy, I wasn’t fighting!” he said.

“Just a clash, I’m not too sure what it was.”
