Eddie Jones’ injury list is starting to pile up.
The Australian is already without Billy Vunipola and his brother Mako for a larger portion of the tournament, with centre Manu Tuilagi ruled out for the season earlier this week and will play not part in the tournament.
The Daily Mail are now reporting that despite the fact that he will not know the full extent of his injury until Monday, former captain Chris Robshaw will indeed miss the opening game against France at the very least.
Robshaw has reportedly been granted an ‘extended period of rest’ to recover from a shoulder injury. Eddie Jones has said Robshaw was England’s best player in 2016 but lock Maro Itoje could now be shifted to the back row to cover for the Harlequins man.
His absence could be compounded by new injuries to No 8 Jack Clifford and centre Ben Te’o, who have both been ruled out of club action this weekend.
