Fined.
The Guardian is reporting that England have been fined ‘a four-figure sum’ for their response to the Haka ahead of their Rugby World Cup semi-final meeting with the All Blacks last Saturday.
England lined up in front of the traditional challenge in a ‘Flying V’ formation and had to be told to retreat by officials on the day when they moved too close to New Zealand.
It is understood that the protocol states opponents must not cross the halfway line.
The fine has been met with a furious reaction online with World Rugby happy to use the footage for millions of views on their social channels, branding England’s response to the war dance as “incredible” but still willing to fine the RFU.
