England have today been accused of spying on the Australian rugby camp in a report in The Sun that claims a photographer was chased away from a training session in Bath.

Lancaster’s side take on the Wallabies on Saturday and it’s being reported that the 2003 World Cup champions tried to obtain some tactical insight into Australia’s tactics.

The photographer is said to have “grabbed his camera and fled in panic when he was caught prying at the Australia rugby team.”

The story, broken by Neil Syson, claims that “security guards chased the intruder after spotting him lurking in bushes.”

“Aussie officials were furious as the finger was pointed at England over fears they could be gathering tactical knowledge.”

He added: “The spy, who had hi-tech gear on a tripod, was seen in a field watching the Wallabies’ closed session at Bath University.

“His elevated spot allowed him to see over hessian-covered fences surrounding the pitch.

“Australia have reported the incident to tournament chiefs.”
