Eddie Jones is a master at mind games.
The England head coach is already working his magic by deflecting the attention onto Ireland as opposed to his players.
Ireland have very little to play for this weekend in comparison to England who are on the brink of history. If you were a neutral you would perhaps say the pressure is on England to deliver a second successive Grand Slam this year and back up their unbelievable form by beating the All Blacks record.
Jones has made it very clear that he wants to win a Rugby World Cup with his current side and in the process overtake the All Blacks and become the number one team in World Rugby.
Ireland’s disappointing campaign however means the pressure is on Ireland this weekend and not the Red Rose according to Jones.
“They’re an extremely well-coached side, they’ll be grossly disappointed by their performance on Friday,” Jones told the Irish Times at a media briefing today.
“I’ve just been reading all the predictions at the start of the tournament and a number of people tipped them to win the competition.
“They were favourites, they haven’t won the Six Nations and they’ll be carrying the expectation of their country to do well.”
