South Africa lock Eben Etzebeth will make a decision on his short-term club future after this autumn’s tour of Europe.
Saracens held talks with Etzebeth last month in the hope of signing him on a three-month contract to ease their second row injury crisis, only to be put off by his wage demands.
Bristol are reportedly now interested in signing the 25-year-old to aid their bid for survival before he returns to South Africa to complete the final year of his deal with the Stormers.
“I’m focusing on Saturday’s game against the Barbarians and then the end-of-the-year tour. After that, nothing is pen on paper or certain,” he said.
“I’m loving being here in England and the weather is better than I thought.
“I’m also off to the Arsenal on Sunday — I’m a big Arsenal fan so I’m looking forward to the derby.
“Saturday will be my first time playing at Wembley and I’m excited about that.”
South Africa face the Barbarians on Saturday at Wembley before taking on England at Twickenham on Saturday week, hoping to extend an unbeaten run against Eddie Jones’ men that dates back to 2006.
