Left out.
England head coach Eddie Jones named his 31-man Rugby World Cup squad for Japan yesterday – springing plenty of surprises with some notable exclusions and surprise inclusions.
In are the likes of Lewis Ludlam, Jack Singleton, Ruaridh McConnochie and Willi Heinz, but there’s no room for regulars under Jones like Mike Brown, Chris Robshaw, Danny Care, Ben Te’o and Brad Shields.
Another man who was of course left out is Danny Cipriani. The Gloucester outhalf is arguably the form outhalf in England right now, having been named Premiership Player of the Year after a stellar campaign.
But for some reason, Eddie Jones just refuses to pick him, and the man himself has reacted to the squad announcement on Twitter with some clapping emojis. You can take what you want from it, but as far as we’re concerned – that’s a sarcastic clap from a man who is rightly bemused at the lack of opportunity Jones has given him. And if it’s not – it damn well should be.
Joke
