On track.
Dan Leavy is finally back on a rugby pitch as he continues his long road to recovery following a devastating complex knee ligament injury that has kept him out for the since April of last year.
Leavy suffered the injury while playing for Leinster in the quarter-final of the Champions Cup against Ulster last year, landing very awkwardly following a reckless clear-out.
The injury stooped him from appearing at his first World Cup last year but it appears his recovery is going well following multiple surgeries and extensive rehab. He still has a way to go but seeing him back on a rugby pitch is a wonderful sight.
In an update on Instagram, Leavy said it’s been a “hell of a 10-month journey” but he’s excited for what’s to come. The Ireland international is reportedly on track to return at some stage next season.
“It’s been a hell of a 10-month journey to get back on the paddock again but was absolutely loving my first run around today!” Leavy wrote.
“I’ve got to say a big thanks for all the support I’ve received thus far and especially to my physio Karl for his countless hours of hard work and commitment.
“I’m delighted with how the knee is feeling and really excited for what the next few months hold! LET’S GO!”
