Concussed.
Ireland boss Andy Farrell has provided an update on Craig Casey following some worrying scenes during yesterday’s game with South Africa.
Casey was injured in the 63rd minute following a tackle from former Munster teammate RG Snyman. He was motionless on the ground for several minutes as he was attended to by medical staff.
The scrumhalf landed heavily on his head and appeared to lose consciousness and some pretty worrying scenes unfolded before he was taken off in a stretcher after being placed in a neck brace.
Thankfully he gave a thumbs up to the crowd as he left the pitch and now Andy Farrell has revealed that he was still on a trolley when he finally got to the back and had suffered a concussion.
“He’s concussed,” Farrell said.
“He was still on the trolley when I came in at the end so obviously it was concerning enough but he was up and walking around, not quite himself yet but he’s up and about and wondering what’s going on.”
