What a brilliant idea
You may have spotted this fantastic ‘Green is the New Black” graphic doing the rounds on social media in the past week following Ireland’s historic victory over New Zealand. The win was Ireland’s first in history following 111 years of trying.
Irish fan Jeri Mahon decided to mock the graphic up quickly while doodling around, but definitely didn’t expect the reaction she got. The image was shared all over the internet with several top outlets, including ourselves, picking up on it.
She’s now decided to put its popularity to some good use, with the the graphic now available on a t-shirt, with all funds raised going to the Simon Community.
Jeri popped us a message on Facebook last night to tell us all about it.
Loads of people asked me for it to be made into a T-shirt in advance of the Ireland v New Zealand game in Dublin next weekend, so I thought it’d be a perfect opportunity to use its unexpected traction and the power of social media for some good!
I’ve since created premium t-shirts, screen printed in Dublin. 100% of the funds raised from the sale of the T-shirts will go to Dublin Simon Community to help the homeless, especially coming into the winter with the harsh drop in temperatures.
‘Green is the New Black’ T-shirts can be purchased from the Bath Pub on Bath Avenue, Ringsend, Dublin 4 before the Ireland v Canada game in the Aviva Stadium this Saturday, November 19th and online via dublinerdoodles.com.
Get your t-shirt now! They’re pretty class in fairness and all for a good cause.
