Toulon are set to part company with Mike Ford following their Champions Cup quarter final loss to Clermont.
The former Bath coach was set to leave the French giants at the end of the season with Fabien Galthie replacing him, but The Telegraph are now reporting that Mourad Boudjellal has come to a mutual agreement with Ford to curtail his short-term contract ahead of this weekend’s Top 14 clash with Toulouse.
Ford’s position at the club has been in doubt for some time, with Sunday’s defeat said to be the final straw for the Toulon owner.
Boudjellal made it no secret he wanted to bring Galthie in and would probably have already had him in place if it were not for his contract commitments with Montpellier.
Ford has been linked with a move to French strugglers Bayonne in recent weeks.
