Well deserved.
Connacht will be without Ireland internationals Kieran Marmion and Bundee Aki for their European Challenge Cup double-header with Paddy Jackson’s Perpignan next month.
Marmion is set to have surgery on an ankle injury picked up against Argentina, while Aki will head back to New Zealand for a couple of weeks and marry his partner Kayla.
Both players were key as Ireland secured a famous win over the All Blacks at the Aviva on Saturday. Connacht head coach Andy Friend says Aki should be back in time for the inter-pros at the end of December.
“We are excited to have Bundee back but he needs to have a break from IRFU duties, which will be over this next period of time,” said head coach Andy Friend.
“He is actually going to head home and he and his partner (Kayla) are getting married. That was agreed to a while ago, that he would head back to New Zealand and have some time for his wedding.
“There is a brief time for him to head home, get married and then he’ll be back with up in the middle of December. He should be (back for the inter-pros).”
