A decision on the head coach position is yet to be made but reports are coming in that two Englishmen will take on coaching roles with the Lions this summer.
England duo Steve Borthwick and Paul Gustard have apparently been give the blessing of England head coach Eddie Jones and the RFU to take up roles with the Lions for their 2017 tour of New Zealand.
Following a hugely successful spell with Saracens, glittered with trophies and a Grand Slam this year with England, Gustard is quickly becoming one of the world’s most respected defence coaches and is expected to get the nod over 2013 defence coach and fellow Englishman, Andy Farrell.
Borthwick worked next to Jones with Japan before joining him after the Rugby World Cup with England. One person who will not be joining them next summer, is their boss Eddie Jones, who ruled himself out of the running for the head coach position last week.
