Not bad.
Whoever says forwards can’t kick – hasn’t seen members of the British and Irish pack showing off their skills in Murrayfield ahead of the game against Japan on Saturday.
Mako Vunipola, Justin Tipuric and Toby Faletau took each other on in a bit of a kicking competition with Mako and Toby going extremely close before Tipuric absolutely nailed a kick from close the sideline, proving it doesn’t matter what number is on the back of your jersey.
But they were taught a bit of a lesson by fullback Elliot Daly, whose kicking proved to be pivotal four years ago in New Zealand, when the Saracens man stepped up with a kick as good as you’re ever gonna see on a rugby pitch.
Keep an eye out for Mako’s decent drop goal attempt too. Not bad for a front-row! The kicking starts around the 13-minute mark on Episode 3 of ‘The Ultimate Test’ which is embedded below. It’s a cracking show if you haven’t seen it yet – and it’s getting better every week.
