Scotland’s Six Nations hopes have been dealt a massive blow after captain Greig Laidlaw was ruled out for the remainder of the campaign.
The 31-year-old Gloucester scrumhalf hobbled off early on in Sunday’s defeat to France.
Now the SRU have confirmed the ankle injury he suffered will rule Laidlaw out for the remaining three matches in this season’s competition.
The Clermont bound star has been one of Scotland’s star performers in the tournament so far and his injury comes as a massive blow to Vern Cotter.
Up next for the Scots is Wales at Murrayfield on February 25th, who they will now have to take on without their place-kicker and captain.
