Peter O’Mahony will play no further part in Ireland’s World Cup campaign it was revealed this morning.
Paul O’Connell is also expected to be ruled out later this evening while the Irish camp are more hopeful of Jonny Sexton and await more info.
Joe Schmidt however has acted quickly to call in reinforcements to replace the injured Munster captain with Leinster flanker Rhys Ruddock officially called into the World Cup squad this morning.
No news yet on whether a replacement will be brought in for the injured Jared Payne.
