As one of the sporting world’s biggest events, the Six Nations garners massive interest from all across Europe, leaving many fans to wonder: who is in the runnings to be this year’s winner? Wonder not; today, we’re delving into the different Six Nations teams and their current odds and rankings to help clarify the bookies’ current stance on whether Ireland’s in for a shot at winning the Six Nations this year.
Who is the Bookies’ Favourite for the Six Nations 2025?
As it stands at the moment, the bookies’ favourite to win the Six Nations 2025 is definitely looking to be Ireland – great news for any supporters of the team! Indeed, with QuinnBet and Ladbrokes offering odds of 8/5 (2.6) and 7/4 (2.75) respectively, it’s safe to say that Irish bookies on BetIreland have a pretty clear picture in mind for their favourite to win.
With that being said, while the bookies are definitely favouring Ireland to take home the Six Nations Cup this year, there’s still all to play for, and odds on many other teams are far from long shots. For example, France is coming in at 15/8 (2.88) and 2/1 (3.0) respectively for each bookie, indicating that – while Ireland are still the favourite – the bookies aren’t confident that France won’t put up a very good fight.
The same can also be said for England and, to a lesser degree, Scotland; indeed, Ladbrokes has awarded these teams odds of 7/2 (5) and 6/1 (7.0), while QuinnBet comes exceptionally close at 17/5 (4.4) and 6/1 (7.0). Given this, it’s safe to say that, while Ireland and France are in close competition for the clear favourite, the bookies remain confident that England and Scotland both have good chances.
In fact, of the six nations competing overall, only Wales and Italy are clear outliers, with average odds of around 50/1 and 200/1 respectively for QuinnBet and Ladbrokes.
Are Ireland on Form to Win the Six Nations?
Ireland have already won two Six Nations Cups in a row; therein, it’s perhaps unsurprising that many fans are optimistic for a third win. However, given that their first Six Nations fixture isn’t until the 1st of February when they’ll be up against England, there’s plenty of time for the team to either cement their skills or stumble.
Given their devastating loss against New Zealand in November, there’s every possibility that things might not go their way. Nevertheless, fans will no doubt be hoping that the team will have learned lessons from that match, so there’s still all to play for. No doubt, there’ll be plenty of room to scrutinise the team’s form after their first Six Nations meetings kick off.
Final Thoughts
Deciding whether Ireland’s likely to win the Six Nations isn’t easy; after all, there are countless factors at play with this analysis. Nevertheless, given their recent Six Nations wins, it’s perhaps unsurprising that they’re widely considered to be the bookies’ favourite. That being said, though, their win certainly isn’t set in stone, and the bookies are looking almost equally as interested in France – so, Ireland will no doubt still need to bring their all to pull a Six Nations win for 2025.
