On the move.
All Blacks Test veteran Jerome Kaino is set to depart New Zealand at the end of this year’s Super Rugby season, according to a report this morning by the NZ Herald.
The talented back-row has long been linked with a move abroad, having fallen down the pecking order in terms of All Blacks selection. An official announcement is expected in the coming weeks.
A deal is yet to be finalised, but the 81-Test veteran is expected to move to France, and sign a deal with four-time European champions Toulouse. Rivals Toulon have also expressed interest, but that may have cooled with Kaino’s former All Blacks teammate Liam Messam already on the way to the south of France.
Kaino will play out the 2018 Super Rugby season, before becoming the latest in a long line of former All Blacks to cash in on a move to Europe.
