Ian Madigan may not be moving to Connacht, but it appears Pat Lam is a fan.
The Connacht head coach is set to leave the western province at the end of the season to take over at Bristol and has already started recruiting players ahead of next season with the signing of All Black Steven Luatua.
Northampton have reportedly tabled a £500,000 a season offer for Madigan, but Bristol are now looking to hijack the deal according to Neil Fissler of The Rugby Paper.
They’re also looking to poach a half-back partner for Madigan right from under the noses of Toulon. All Black Tawera Kerr-Barlow has long be on the French giants radar, and is expected to make a decision on his future in the coming days.
Bristol are reportedly prepared to offer Madigan even more than £500,000 a season, but may have left it too late to land the playmaker. It appears they will however win the race to sign Kerr-Barlow.
