Reports today have suggested that Leinster centre and Rugby League convert Ben Te’o may leave the province at the end of the season.
Several Top 14 and Aviva Premiership clubs are said to be chasing his signature, with some reportedly willing to double his current wages. Rumours have also been rampant that Te’o might even do a Sam Burgess and return to Rugby League, where he was teammates with Burgess at the Rabitohs.
Te’o had this to say:
In terms of the game of rugby union, it was a hard transition and at times there were thoughts about whether I’d be suited to go back to league. But I think I’m really enjoying rugby union and I probably want to stick around.
So he’s staying in union. Is he staying with Leinster? Te’o remained pretty tightlipped on the subject.
That’s something that I’m in the process of sorting out.
I did enjoy last year. I’m feeling a lot more comfortable this year after doing a full pre-season. I’m enjoying every game I get to get out there in the midfield and mix it up with some of the great teams that we play.
