Anthony Foley’s funeral will take place in Killaloe on Friday morning.
The Irish and Munster rugby legend’s remains will be flown home to Shannon Airport tomorrow and then brought to his family home in Co. Clare.
They will lie in repose at St Flannan’s Church, Killaloe from 1pm to 8.30pm on Thursday evening.
Foley’s funeral mass will take place at 12pm midday on Friday at St Flannan’s Church. Burial afterwards will be at Relig Núa Cemetery.
Foley died of an ‘acute pulmonary edema’, the coroner’s report concluded. According to the autopsy, he ‘had a heart rhythm disorder that caused an acute pulmonary edema’, the Nanterre public prosecutor west of Paris told AFP.
Pulmonary edema is a build-up of fluid in the lungs that can lead to respiratory failure.
Members of the public wishing to pay their respects to Foley have been asked to visit the church as early as possible on Thursday.
