Ready to go.
Ireland boss Andy Farrell has confirmed both Robbie Henshaw and Caelan Doris are fit and available for selection ahead of their huge Triple Crown clash with England on Sunday week.
Doris was forced off after just five minutes on his debut against Scotland in the opening round following a nasty clash of heads with a teammate. He missed the game against Wales but is in contention for selection against England.
Henshaw meanwhile was replaced by Keith Earls midway through the Welsh game after putting in an incredible first-half performance. He is also back to full fitness and looks primed to once again partner Bundee Aki in midfield.
“Yeah [he’s fit],” Farrell said today when asked about Henshaw.
“The reason we kept Caelan available, he missed most of last week, so (we wanted) to keep him up to speed. It was good for him after his return (to play) stuff. He’s in the clear now and he’s had a good couple of days which is great to see from him.”
On the games itself, we asked Farrell how confident Ireland are heading into the Twickenham clash and he said they are as “confident as you can be” ahead of the mammoth clash.
“As confident as you can be going to Twickenham,” Farrell added.
“We know the task in hand. We know what awaits you when you get there. We know that England are pretty proud to play at home like we are to play at the Aviva.
“We feel like we’re in a decent place. We’re looking forward to next week. We’ve had a good couple of days here.
“I’m sure the lads are relishing coming into camp on Monday night, looking for a big week ahead. We’ll need to be like that.”
