Some big negotiations set to take place.
A number of Ireland internationals are currently in the last season of their contracts with the IRFU set to commence a busy period of negotiation over the coming months.
Some of the high profile names set to sit down for talks include Simon Zebo, Rob Kearney, CJ Stander, Peter O’Mahony, Cian Healy, Kieran Marmion and Jared Payne.
While the majority of them will likely sign back on in order to preserve their international careers, there’s a couple of names that might potentially be lured by the riches of England or France.
Cian Healy for example likely won’t be offered another IRFU deal. Props are a high commodity in France, and with his injury record, he might just decide now is the time to cash in. The same could be said for Rob Kearney in terms of injuries and an IRFU deal.
The former Lions fullback would likely still fetch a pretty penny in England or France. Munster’s Simon Zebo is already said to be on Pau’s radar
