Dubious.
Ireland boss Andy Farrell has had his say on some of the controversial calls made during his side’s defeat to South Africa in their series opener yesterday evening.
The men in green came up just short in a titanic battle between two of the very best teams in the world, with the world champions ultimately edging it 27-20.
There were some “dubious” calls made by the TMO during the game according to Farrell, with two key ones involving Leinster winger James Lowe.
His stunning solo try was ruled out with the TMO stating that Ronan Kelleher infringed at the ruck, while Cheslin Kolbe’s late try also stood despite there being evidence that Lowe was in touch when he attempted to keep the ball in play, resulting in the Springbok winger taking full advantage.

Farrell said that Ireland will be going through the “right channels” and also mentioned the Craig Casey incident with some feeling that the tackle that resulted in the scrumhalf being concussed, was a late one.
“It’s not for me to say but I saw quite a few of them live and they had a dubious thought about it but anyway, that’s life,” Farrell said.
“We will go through the right channels and make sure we do things properly as far as those things are concerned. You’ll make of it what you want. We have to go through the right channels. Unlucky, lucky, that’s the game as well…
“You’ll make your own decision on whether he still had the ball in his right hand or whether the ball hit him as he threw it back into field and his foot was in touch. That’s for us all to debate. It is what it is, that is the sport, it’s difficult to referee.
“You just want consistency, that’s all. Sometimes it goes for you and sometimes it doesn’t. You’ll make your own decision on the Craig thing.
