Just the ticket.
Rassie Erasmus is set to step down as South Africa’s Director of Rugby with the union set to make several changes to the make-up of their coaching ticket.
Erasmus is set to leave the role to focus on his job as head coach of the national team following Jacques Nienebar’s exit, with three men set to join a brand new Springboks coaching ticket.
Afrikaans newspaper Rapport are reporting that Duane Vermeulen will be appointed in an “important, full-time” position at SA Rugby, in a position with responsibilities beyond a defence coach, allowing Erasmus to make his DOR role redundant.
Former All Black Tony Brown is set to be instilled as South Africa’s new attack coach with former Munster and Ireland hooker Jerry Flannery, who is currently a coach at Harlequins, set to assume the role of defence coach.
