Munster’s stock at 10 is quite bare at the moment and that situation looks set to get even worse with Joey Carbery departing at the end of the season.

Without Carbery, Munster will be down to just one senior outhalf in their squad, Jack Crowley, alongside youngster Tony Butler, who is just 21.

Ben Healy also departed the province at the end of last season to join Edinburgh and become a Scotland international, with the loss of Carbery finally set to force Munster’s hand in terms of bringing in an established fly-half.

One man who would fit that bill, excuse the pun, is Ulster’s Billy Burns, who Munster are reportedly interested in bringing to Limerick, according to Gerry Thornley, in the Irish Times.

Burns’ contract will not be renewed by the Ulster Rugby at the end of the season according to the report with the 29-year-old Ireland international set to become a free agent in the summer.
