Calamity.
Louis Bielle-Biarrey was one of the breakout stars at the Rugby World Cup and is now the owner of one of the most bizarre tries you will ever see on a rugby pitch.
The 20-year-old was a regular for France at rugby’s showpiece event, bursting onto the scene to claim a spot on the wing for the hosts who were knocked out by eventual winners South Africa in the quarter-finals.
He was in action for his club side Bordeaux-Begles in the Top 14 at the weekend with his side 23-22 down to Oyonnax with just a couple of minutes remaining in the game.
His teammate Maxime Lucu lined up a penalty which unfortunately was wide, but Bielle-Biarrey’s quick-thinking, coupled with a calamity of errors from two Oyonnax players, resulted in a bizarre try.
The try would prove costly as Bordeaux snatched a 29-23 win. No doubt Oyonnax will be embarrassed by this one.
