Not good.
Wales made it four wins from four at the World Cup this afternoon with a 43-19 victory over Georgia, but the win has come at a massive cost.
Taulupe Faletau has been ruled out of the rest of the Rugby World Cup after breaking his arm in the win. Faletau has been in excellent form for Wales and remains to be one of their key players.
Wales also lost outhalf Gareth Anscombe before the game with his World Cup now also in doubt.
“Toby has broken his arm so he’ll be out,” head coach Warren Gatland said post-match.
“We’re going to assess Gareth over the next 72 hours. He’s pulled his groin very high. He’s still got power in his leg.
“We’ve got to look at a replacement for Faletau, whether that’s a loose forward or another position.
“It’s tough for him because he didn’t play in the warm-ups. We felt he was back to his best. He was excellent against Australia with his footwork. It’s a big loss for us. We’ll make a decision on his replacement and the balance of the back-row next week.”
Liam Williams also left the stadium on crutches after taking a knock to his knee. Up next for Wales is a quarter-final meeting with either Argentina, Japan or Samoa in Marseille next week.
