Footage Emerges Of Alleged Biting Incident That Has Seen Kyle Sinckler Cited

Cited.

British and Irish Lions tighthead Kyle Sinckler will attend an independent disciplinary hearing this week after he was cited by Scott Nowland for an act of foul play contrary to Law 9.12 (biting) during the 64th minute of the second test against South Africa at the weekend.

The news broke late last night and came as a huge surprise with no one picking up on this alleged incident on social media.

Fullback Stuart Hogg was under the microscope over the weekend for another alleged biting incident, with a number of other incidents popping up, but Sinckler’s alleged bite is the only incident in the game that has been picked up by citing officials.

So what happened? Footage appears to be scarce but we have managed to find a few clips, as well as some more info on the incident. The South Africa player in question is Franco Mostert but nothing is clear and evident, although there were some complaints from the South African players on the day.

It’s also worth noting that the citing officer will have access to additional images and videos that cannot be made public in these cases because of issues with TV rights. Have a look at the Tweets below to try and get a better feel for what exactly is going on.
