Snubbed.
As with every British and Irish Lions squad, given the incredible competition across the four home nations – some big names are always going to miss out on selection every four years.
Picking just 37 players from Britain and Ireland is an incredibly difficult task and no one is going to agree with every decision Warren Gatland and his coaching ticket have made.
Gatland and his team can’t afford to choose players purely on individual merit and of course, there is always going to be an element of favouritism towards players he and his ticket are more familiar with.
But whether you take that into consideration or not – a quick look at some of the names that have missed out shows just how difficult it is to pick a squad and how much of an achievement it truly is.
