Defeated.
Ireland are still in search of their first win in the 2021 Six Nations following a 13-15 defeat to France in Dublin this afternoon.
The men in green went into the game without Conor Murray or Johnny Sexton in their team for the first time in 10 years and despite a valiant effort – just weren’t good enough in the end.
Farrell’s side enjoyed plenty of possession but France’s defence was impeccable for much of the game, with Ireland meanwhile conceding a couple of tries as a result of some more defensive errors.
And to make matters even worse, a rather harrowing stat has emerged following the defeat. For the first time in their history, Ireland have lost their first two games in the Six Nations. Very worrying.
