Ambitious.
Former Lions captain Sam Warburton, who skippered the touring side in both 2013 against Australia and 2017 against New Zealand, has had a go at picking his Lions XV following the final round of the Autumn Nations Cup.
Warburton has gone for an interesting selection with new fewer than 10 Irish players in his team which has a lot of people scratching their heads given Ireland’s recent form.
Jacob Stockdale, Keith Earls, Bundee Aki, Robbie Henshaw, Conor Murray, Johnny Sexton, Cian Healy, Andrew Porter, James Ryan and Peter O’Mahony all make Warburton’s team.
The other five spots are filled by England’s Maro Itoje and Luke Cowan-Dickie, Wales’ Justin Tipuric and Taulupe Faletau and Scotland’s Duhan van der Merwe.
