Bad News For Rugby & Other Sports In Ireland As Government Plans Surface

You’ve got no fans.

All sporting events, including rugby, will take place behind closed doors under measures set to be taken by the government this afternoon, according to RTÉ News.

It was hope that the government would allow small numbers into stadiums bit it appears a decision has been made not to allow spectators at any sporting fixtures for the foreseeable future.

Currently, 200 people are allowed be part of an outdoor sporting event but that will soon change. A planned move to permit 500 people at events was delayed when cases in the country began to increase again over the last two weeks.

Munster and Leinster will battle it out this weekend in the Aviva Stadium with no fans in attendance and even media not permitted to go to the game.
