England Lock Maro Itoje Has Made A Decision On His Future With Saracens Ahead Of Relegation

Committed.

England lock Maro Itoje has become the latest key player to commit his future to Saracens ahead of their relegation to the championship.

A number of top names have committed to staying with the reigning Premiership champions in recent weeks despite the fact that they will be playing in the second tier of English rugby next season following their salary cap scandal.

Itoje joins the likes of England captain Owen Farrell as well as fellow internationals Elliot Daly, Mako Vunipola and Jamie George in committing to staying with the club beyond the end of the current season.

The lock’s rise from the Saracens Academy to the international stage has seen him captain his country to a Junior World Championship title, skipper his club to LV= Cup success as well as being named the 2016 European Player of the Year.

He is also currently one of the favourites to captain the British and Irish Lions in South Africa next year.

“I’m massively excited to be a part of this club,” Itoje said.

“I’ve been part of Saracens since I was 14-years-old, and we’ve had some great memories.

“The culture at Saracens is second to none and I think that’s evident for everyone to see.

“I’m really looking forward to the future; the future is going to be brighter than our past. The future is in our hands and we have the power to shape our own destiny.”
