Sticking around.
England lock Maro Itoje will not be leaving Saracens ahead of next season despite their impending relegation with the 25-year-old set to commit his future to the reigning Premiership champions, according to The RugbyPaper.
Sarries have already lost a number of key men ahead of next season either on loan or on permanent deals with the likes of George Kruis, Will Skelton, Alex Lozowski, Nick Isiekwe, Jack Singleton and Ben Earl all set to play their rugby elsewhere next season.
But Itoje’s decision to stick it out with Saracens will come as a huge boost as they look to bounce straight back to the Premiership following their automatic relegation for a number of salary cap breaches.
The towering lock had been linked with a move to Racing 92 but a loan deal that allowed him to still be eligible for England was reportedly rejected by Premiership clubs.
A number of other England stars including Owen Farrell, Elliot Daly, Billy Vunipola, Jamie George and Mako Vunipola and have already committed to staying with the club next season.
The club also announced an addition for next season today with USA international outhalf Will Hooley signing from Championship outfit Bedford Blues.
