England Star Makes A Decision On His Saracens Future Ahead Of Relegation

Staying.

England number eight Billy Vunipola has revealed he will be staying with Saracens next season as they prepare for life in the Championship.

The reigning Premiership champions were handy a massive points deduction and a huge fine for multiple salary cap breach offences earlier this season and will ply their trade in the second-tier of English rugby next season as a result.

Vunipola has been linked with a move to Super Rugby in recent weeks but in an interview with RugbyPass, the England star said he will be staying at Saracens next season.

“I’m definitely staying. The way I see, it’s part of the journey of the club,” Vunipola said.

“From my point of view, I’m just trying to sit still and play it out, see where we end up next year.

“I can’t see a negative in it. I’ve haven’t spoken directly to the powers at the top, when it comes to England or at Sarries, as to what will happen in terms of international recognition,” Vunipola added.

“I’m excited for next year. I reckon I’ll play as much as I can, try to help the team as much as possible and hopefully we’ll come straight back up.

“Some boys have had to try and further their careers, as they are at the start of their careers. I’m kind of in the middle of it.

“Boys are in different situations, and I can understand that. They’ve got families and things to look after.”
