RFU Make Stunning Move For Head Coach To Replace Eddie Jones As England Boss

Wanted man.

The Rugby Football Union are reportedly lining up a stunning move to bring in former Springboks head coach Rassie Erasmus as Eddie Jones’ replacement.

The England boss is currently contracted with the RFU until 2021 with Erasmus stepping back as head coach of the Springboks following his Rugby World Cup triumph over Jones’ side in Japan last year.

Erasmus was spotted at Murrayfield yesterday as England got their Six Nations campaign back on track with a 13-6 win over neighbours Scotland to recapture the Calcutta Cup.

And according to Rapport, Erasmus was there for potential talks to replace the Australian in 2021.

Erasmus signed a four-year contract with SA Rugby at the end of 2017, but the Afrikaans newspaper cites “two impeccable sources” who claim that a clause in the contract would allow him to step away earlier if he reached an agreement with the RFU.
