England have been dealt a major blow ahead of this weekend’s Six Nations Round 2 clash with Scotland at Murrayfield with centre Manu Tuilagi ruled out through injury.
The powerful centre was forced off early on during England’s defeat to France on Sunday with Jamie Joseph coming off the bench to replace him.
England are already without Billy Vunipola in the back-row leaving them short in terms of big ball carriers. Centre Henry Slade is also currently sidelined with Owen Farrell now likely to continue at inside centre with George Ford at ten.
But there is some good nows with England boss Eddie Jones confirming the injury to Tuilagi isn’t too serious with the Leicester Tigers centre expected to be back in time for their clash with Ireland at Twickenham.
“It’s a slight grade one [groin tear],” Jones told Sky Sports
“He should be back for the Ireland game.”
Jones names his team to take on Scotland this Friday.
