What a character.
An England XV and the Barbarians put on absolutely excellent show at Twickenham today with the touring side just falling short in a 51-43 win for the home team.
The game was filled with typical Barbarian free-flowing, off the cuff action – from both sides, and once again affirmed the game still needs this famous touring side to show us a lighter side of the game from time to time.
One man who thinks the Barbarians are more needed now than ever in a game that has reached ‘peak’ professionalism, is recently retired England prop Joe Marler, who wore the famous black and white Baa Baa colours this afternoon.
The Harlequins man joined the Sky Sports punditry team, that included former teammates James Haskell and Chris Ashton, to talk all about the absolute beauty of the Barbarians concept in one of the best interviews we’ve ever seen.
