Ah lads.
Declan Kidney’s London Irish have been incredibly busy over the last few months ahead of their promotion back to the Gallagher Premiership next season.
It started with the signings of the likes of Nick Phipps, Allan Dell and Curtis Rona, before a serious statement of intent was made with the capture of Leinster, Lions and Ireland back-row Sean O’Brien.
Over the last few days then things kicked into overdrive. First it was announced that Wallabies veteran Sekope Kepu would be joining them next season, then former Ulster outhalf Paddy Jackson, before the massive reveal that Waisake Naholo would also be plying his trade in the Premiership with Irish for their return.
And now today they’ve announced that Wallabies giant Adam Coleman will also join, in what could be their most important signing yet. Coleman is a 6ft 8in, 122kg lock forward who has been one of the cornerstones of the Australian national team’s pack for the past two-and-a-half years.
“Im really looking forward to joining London Irish” Coleman stated after Irish confirmed the move
“It’s been clear talking to Declan and Les that they’ve got big ambitions for the club, and as well as a good squad already in place, they are making some exciting signings as well. The plans for moving back into London look really good as well, and it will be a privilege to be a part of that journey.
“Before I move to London I’ll be fully committed to having a good Super Rugby campaign in Melbourne and hopefully helping Australia achieve success in the World Cup.”
