Favourite.
Outgoing Wales boss Warren Gatland has emerged as the hot favourite to replace Eddie Jones as England head coach according to a report in the Telegraph.
Jones’ contract with the RFU expires in 2021, but does include a break clause depending on how England get on at the Rugby World Cup in Japan later this year. Gatland meanwhile will walk away from Wales for definite after rugby’s showpiece event, with Scarlets head coach Wayne Pivac set to replace him.
The report suggests the RFU have already held talks with Gatland, although they reject these claims.
Gatland and Jones go head-to-head on Saturday when Wales host England in the Six Nations. A final interview for Gatland perhaps?
