Aboy beanz.
Nicknames have always been a huge part of rugby, and a number of Irish Rugby players have had some excellent ones over the years.
Paul O’Connell was ‘Psycho’, Stringer had ‘Knickers’, Anthony Foley was ‘Axel’, Tadhg Furlong is the ‘the jukebox’ (because the hits just keep on coming) and of course some of the simple ones like ‘The Claw’ for Peter Clohessy and ‘Gaillimh’ for Mick Galwey.
And now Munster and Ireland winger Keith Earls has been given a brilliant, and very apt new nickname after he became a brand ambassador for Heinz Beans…
